Manuel Cortez married Saina Bayatpour at the weekend. Celebrity guests gave an insight into the wedding celebrations.
Manuel Cortez (45) and his partner Saina Bayatpour are a newlywed couple. The actor, who also works as an author, speaker and podcaster, married the entrepreneur last weekend at Lake Starnberg. Actress Susan Sideropoulos (43), among others, published pictures of the wedding via Instagram.
“Weddings are magic,” she wrote alongside photos of the bride and groom, thanking them for a day “filled with love and magical moments.” “We are so grateful to be able to share these wonderful and important moments with you.” Sideropoulos wore a summery pink jumpsuit at the wedding by the lake. Cortez wore a black suit at his wedding, while the bride wore a cream-colored A-line dress with lots of flower appliqués. Presenter Nina Moghaddam (43), who apparently acted as the wedding officiant, also shared impressions of the wedding in bright sunshine.
He was “afraid” of getting married
Cortez has been in a relationship with entrepreneur Saina Bayatpour since 2021. He announced their engagement last April. “This is a big deal for me because I’ve always been very afraid of getting married and never wanted to. I never thought I would ever do this,” he said in his podcast “Freigeist by Manuel Cortez”.
His parents’ divorce had such an impact on the “Verliebt in Berlin” star that he always viewed marriage negatively. But he still decided to give himself the experience of marriage. “Marriage per se is neither good nor bad. It’s always a question of why you’re doing it, who you’re doing it with and what you can gain from it,” he explained.
In the podcast, the 45-year-old also revealed some details about his proposal. “I asked Saina if she wanted to marry me on her birthday in February. I wrote her a song, sat down and sang it to her. And she said yes,” he reported.
Manuel Cortez and Saina Bayatpour have been officially together for around three years. Before that, the “Anna and the Love” actor was in a relationship with the designer Miyabi Kawai. They separated in 2019 after 14 years together.
