“Given the multiple versions released, The National University of La Matanza (UNLaM) denies that an applicant for the entrance course carried a weapon and threatened his classmates in the classroom. The message shown in the screenshot that is circulating did exist, but There was no weapon and no one was arrested. The threat was made in a WhatsApp group of new students, which does not belong to the official communication networks of UNLaM,” they said in a statement released on social media.

They concluded: “The University confirmed that there is no certainty that the telephone number of the young man mentioned in the viral photos corresponds to the one in the screenshot of the chat in question. The University, through its General Secretariat, received and hosted teachers and applicants for the course. Along these lines, we proceeded, jointly with the security personnel, to identify the person who sent the aforementioned threat via WhatsApp and file the corresponding complaint with the Federal Police.”
