Big appearance in Australia: Katy Perry (39) will be providing the entertainment at this year’s “AFL Grand Final” on Saturday (28 September) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The singer is scheduled to perform before the final of the Australian Football League (AFL) between the Sydney Swans and the Brisbane Lions.

The US star had already attended a number of events in Australia beforehand. In pictures showing the 39-year-old with a football and a winner’s trophy, she is wearing a tight-fitting outfit. The sleeveless look glittered purple and silver and consisted of a short top that ended above the belly button and a tight, long skirt. The back of the outfit was decorated with a wave-shaped decoration.

Katy Perry also spoke about her nervousness before the big performance in Melbourne. “That will be the most exciting thing: 100,000 people singing along to all the songs at the top of their lungs.” There will also be a lot going on outside of her: butterflies and helicopters will be among the things she will see in her stage show, Perry hinted. According to media reports, the American singer will perform a song from her new album “143” as well as some of her big hits. The album, which was released a week ago, has already received a lot of criticism. This has apparently led to discussions in Australia.

The Herald Sun newspaper even reported that there had been a “dispute” over the 39-year-old’s wish to play songs from her new album alongside some of her classics. The AFL reportedly only wanted to hear the big hits during her performance. The two sides then reportedly agreed on a compromise and Katy Perry is now expected to sing a new song and four of her older hits during the show.
