Music legend Barbra Streisand (82) provides a never-before-seen insight into her life and career. As Sony Music Vision announced on Thursday (September 26th), a multi-part documentary about the singer is in production.

“I have spent years considering how best to share the vast amount of content I have safely stored in my vault,” Barbra Streisand said in a statement. “These films, photos and music – many of which the public has never seen or heard of – contain some of my most treasured memories.”

“Never seen videos, photos, audio recordings”

The project will be directed by EGOT award winner Frank Marshall (78) and produced by Oscar winner Alex Gibney (70). The documentary is intended to provide an “intimate and comprehensive exploration of all facets of the iconic multi-achiever, who has excelled in all areas of entertainment during her career spanning six decades.”

The statement goes on to say that the production was granted access to Streisand’s personal archives, including hundreds of hours of personal, never-before-seen videos, photos, audio recordings and private memorabilia from her celebrated career. The documentary is intended to provide “a deep insight into Streisand’s past and her current artistic ambitions.”
