New single with a Berlin connection

The fall of the Wall made a lasting impression on the self-proclaimed history fan, who enjoys reading thick historical tomes. “I was there,” said the Guns N’ Roses bassist, who is also a lead singer as a solo artist. “And when the wall came down, it was pretty crazy, unbelievable and wonderful at the same time.”

Now Duff has released a cover version of David Bowie’s classic song “Heroes”. Bowie, who lived in Berlin in the late 1970s, was allegedly inspired to write the song by two lovers from the East and the West. “They were sitting right against the wall,” Duff said. “He wrote this beautiful song from that scene. I just love the imagery of this story.”

Especially in Berlin, where he died on October 14th. will be on stage in the home port. “This city is also just beautiful to walk around. The Brandenburg Gate and the whole area there are just great.” He enjoys visiting museums, galleries, restaurants and coffee shops with his wife.

He also has good memories of Munich and Cologne, where he will be giving concerts as part of his solo tour (October 8th in Cologne, October 9th in Munich). “My wife and I love Munich, it’s almost picturesque,” said the musician, who strikes a somewhat quieter tone as a solo artist. He has also played with his bands several times in Cologne. “It’s great that I’m now performing there solo.”
