In February, Finnish singer Samu Haber spoke about his therapy for the first time. He wants to encourage others to admit weaknesses and speaks of a long road ahead.
The Finnish musician Samu Haber (48) describes his years of therapy as “the best investment I have ever made in myself”. It’s okay to feel bad and sad sometimes. “But when you realize that something has broken inside you and you don’t understand your own emotions, it’s so brave to do that,” Haber told the German Press Agency. “I should never be ashamed of being weak because none of us are perfect.”
The former singer of the band Sunrise Avenue (“Hollywood Hills”) spoke about his therapy for the first time in February. He ran away from his “demons” his whole life. “Actually everything was good: career-wise, I had a nice home and a great environment. But I always wanted to run faster and faster and go higher. Then I realized that there was still something in me that I needed to take care of should,” explains the 48-year-old today.
“I’ll probably never be done with it”
I continue to go to therapy every one or two months. “I’ll probably never be done with it, but maybe there will come a time when I only go every few years.”
The rock musician, who can currently be seen as a coach on the music show “The Voice of Germany”, is releasing his first English-language album as a solo artist on Friday, “Me Free My Way”. His band Sunrise Avenue broke up in 2019.
