She’s only 32 years old, but Selena Gomez is already a billionaire. However, the actress doesn’t want to talk about it.
When it comes to finances, Selena Gomez (32) prefers to be quiet. But not because she is short of money. “I feel really, really honored and just happy,” the actress and singer said on the sidelines of the New York Film Festival after achieving billionaire status, according to reports in early September.
At the premiere of her new film “Emilia Pérez” during the 62nd New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on September 30, she spoke about the revelation that the 32-year-old is now worth $1.3 billion, making her a one of the youngest female self-made billionaires in the United States. “I’m very grateful,” Gomez said. “Personally, I think it’s in bad taste to talk about money.”
The “Only Murders in the Building” actress owes her financial success primarily to her beauty care brand Rare Beauty. “I give all the credit to the people who buy the products. They are the ones who made my dream come true, so I feel really, really honored and just happy,” sums up the entrepreneur.
“I never wanted it to be about making a lot of money”
Gomez doesn’t like to talk about the cosmetics brand’s monetary success. Back in May, the Texas native pointed out: “I have this weird thing in my head that if I focus on the numbers, I’m losing what made Rare Beauty Rare Beauty. I never wanted it to be about that to make a lot of money.” She is more concerned with the message that no woman needs make-up to be beautiful.
In addition to Rare Beauty, the former Disney star’s other main sources of income include endorsement deals, tours, her mental health startup Wondermind, music albums, acting, streaming and real estate, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
