Two television greats in direct competition: Stefan Raab and Dieter Bohlen fight for viewers every Wednesday evening. But behind the scenes things look different.

Competition for better ratings? In the past two weeks, the two TV legends Stefan Raab (57) and Dieter Bohlen (70) have been tough TV competitors on the same channel every Wednesday evening. Most recently, Raab shot sharply against the “Germany is looking for the superstar” juror in his program “You won’t win a million here”.

“I have prepared a comprehensive reconstruction program. First of all, we will delete the soft focus for Dieter Bohlen. That costs two or three million per show,” teased Raab. Is it all just for show? Behind the scenes, the two seem to get along great,

Stefan Raab and Dieter Bohlen also meet privately

“A lot has been written about Stefan and I’s relationship. A lot more is often interpreted into it,” the 70-year-old revealed in an interview. “Stefan and I have met a few times. Recently he was with me all day. We chatted comfortably over cola and goulash in my kitchen.” They had a lot of fun and laughed a lot.

Apparently both get along very well in private and appreciate each other’s personalities. “I was particularly pleased that he said that I was one of the few people with whom he could have a great conversation. I can only return that compliment.” Raab is “always warmly welcomed as a new colleague” in his hometown of Tötensen.

In his new show, Raab promptly loses to a candidate - and blames the moderator and colleague Elton. Elton explains in the video how the argument ended.

The two will probably be broadcaster colleagues for at least the next five years. Bohlen said he had just signed a new RTL contract. “I’m looking forward to the next few years. Advance sales for my big arena tour 2025 start on Wednesday: ‘Now or Never’. And that’s how I see it on RTL too.”
