Two months before his 89th birthday, Woody Allen enjoyed a new Broadway play with his wife.
Filmmaker Woody Allen (88) and his wife Soon-Yi Previn (53) rarely appear together in public. The couple apparently didn’t want to miss Robert Downey Jr.’s (59) Broadway debut.
Other celebrities in the premiere audience
The director and his wife were photographed in front of the Vivian Beaumont Theater in New York City. There, Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn attended the premiere of the new play “McNeal,” in which Robert Downey Jr. makes his Broadway debut. The two were in good company, as fellow actors such as Jason Bateman (55), Justin Theroux (53) and Matt Damon (53) also came to the event.
According to US media reports, Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn were last photographed taking a walk in New York on April 24th. Their relationship caused quite a stir right from the start – and not just because of the age difference. Soon-Yi Previn was adopted by Mia Farrow (79) in the 1970s at the age of seven, while she was still married to her then husband André Previn (1929-2019). Shortly afterwards, Farrow began a relationship with Woody Allen. The couple had a son, and the director adopted two of Farrow’s adopted children, Dylan and Moses, in 1991. That same year, he allegedly began an affair with the then 21-year-old Previn.
Married since 1997
The relationship between Farrow and Allen broke up in 1992. A war of roses followed between the couple, during which Woody Allen made his love for Previn public. The relationship that started so scandalously lasted: the two married in December 1997 and have two adopted daughters, Bechet (25) and Manzie (24). In September 2023, the four attended the Venice Film Festival together, where Allen’s film “Coup de Chance” premiered.
