Pamela Anderson recently made her acting comeback. Now she appealed to other women to support each other.
In her late 50s, Pamela Anderson (57) feels more confident than ever. Now she accepted an award from “Glamour” magazine in London. She once again made a statement for natural beauty with her make-up-free face. She also addressed emotional words to her colleagues and female fans in a moving speech. She made it clear that she had set out on a “new path”.
Moving words to other women
She rediscovered her passion for acting through her role in the film “The Last Showgirl,” which premiered in Toronto at the beginning of September. Anderson plays the dancer Shelley, who has been performing in one of the last remaining shows in Las Vegas for over 30 years. When she is fired, she has to say goodbye to the glittering world and start a new life. “This role helped me shake off the cobwebs of an almost forgotten dream: to become an actress,” quoted from her speech at the Glamor Women of the Year Awards.
She thinks it’s wonderful to be part of a film in which women cheer each other on – including Jamie Lee Curtis (65) who plays her best friend in “The Last Showgirl”. “We formed a sisterhood, whereas over the course of my career I often found women to be very competitive and mean to each other.” But she can now say “that it is much better if we love and support each other.”
She took off her mask to star in the film by director Gia Coppola (37). “The world has opened up,” Anderson said. She really liked that. “Feeling rooted is new and exciting.” She wants to make the most of her second chance as an actress. The last few years have felt “like a new beginning”. “I am on my path, a new glorious and imperfect path,” said the 57-year-old in her acceptance speech.
She is “definitely much happier now” than she was ten years ago. In her speech, Anderson also mentioned her two sons Brandon (28) and Dylan (26), who come from her marriage to Tommy Lee (61). She praised her children as “wonderfully strong and resilient hard workers” who would take nothing for granted.
“I finally feel comfortable in my skin”
For the first time, Pamela Anderson caused a stir in September 2023 with a new, radically different look. About a year ago she appeared at Paris Fashion Week with minimal make-up and simple hairstyling. Since then, the former “Baywatch” star has made almost all public appearances with a new no-makeup look.
In a recent she explains this decision: “In your fifties you are at a crossroads. You ask yourself: ‘Do I want to chase youth forever? Or do I want to accept myself?'” She feels like she’s being herself for the first time in her life to feel comfortable when she wears a swimsuit. “I finally feel comfortable in my skin. It’s so liberating.”
