Elton John: There’s “not much left” of the Rocketman

At a screening of the documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late,” the singer listed all the body parts that were removed from him.

It’s been more than 40 years since British singer Elton John (77) sent his defiant super hit “I’m still standing” out into the world. But even in his old age, the artist still stands tall – and despite many physical ailments, has not lost his legendary sense of humor.

Entertainer is a living spare parts warehouse

Speaking at a screening of his new documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late” at the New York Film Festival, the musician joked about his many health problems. He presented himself as a kind of living spare parts warehouse and gave the amused audience a comprehensive overview of all the body parts that had been removed from him over the course of his life.

“I no longer have any tonsils, no adenoids and no appendix,” he explained there. “I don’t have a prostate. I don’t have a right hip, left or right knee. The only thing I have left is my left hip.”

As the paper further reports, Elton John had a pacemaker inserted in the 1990s due to cardiac arrhythmias. He also suffers from drastic hearing loss caused by years of touring. In September, the singer also announced that he had just recovered from a serious eye infection that had temporarily limited his vision.
