Hollywood star Keanu Reeves: almost crash on his debut as a racing driver

Actor, musician and now also racing driver? Keanu Reeves has many passions – but he still has to practice on the race track.

Keanu Reeves (60) is a man of many talents. As a Hollywood star, he saved the world in many ways and demonstrated outstanding accuracy as “John Wick”. He also regularly appears on international stages as the bassist of his band Dogstar. Last Saturday (October 5th) the star tried out another new discipline: he celebrated his debut as a racing driver at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, Reeves had his difficulties with his high-horsepower vehicle, as footage from the race shows.

Reeves can be seen losing control of his car on a curve and spinning. The star still tries to correct the driving error, but still lands roughly on the grass verge next to the road. Lucky for the actor: he missed the concrete track barrier by a few meters – otherwise his racing debut would have ended in a total loss early on.

That would have been doubly bitter. Because on the artfully decorated car with the number 92 he is advertising his graphic novel “The Book of Elsewhere” – another field away from the dream factory that the star ventured into for the first time a few weeks ago.

A slip has no consequences

With the exception of his placement, the slip had no serious consequences. Reeves remained uninjured and was able to finish the 45-minute race unscathed. finished in 25th place. He has another race coming up this Sunday (October 6th).

Reeves may have made his professional debut with this. The “Speed” actor has already proven elsewhere that he has a talent and, above all, a lot of passion for racing. In 2009, he beat his celebrity colleagues at the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, a race for charity, and came in first place.
