Casual and casual: Former 007 actor Daniel Craig has reinvented himself not only on screen, but also in terms of fashion.
There’s not much left of his former James Bond look. Former 007 actor Daniel Craig (56) surprised again on Sunday in New York with his new casual look. At two appointments in the Big Apple, he presented his strikingly casual way of dressing.
His new look is the opposite of James Bond
On the one hand, he took part in a special screening of his new film “Queer” as part of the New York Film Festival on Sunday (October 6th). There he cut a fine figure on the red carpet and on stage in a bottle green, double-breasted suit. Craig wore a black shirt underneath. His longer gray-blonde hair, a three-day beard and glasses with dark lenses combined to provide a large portion of casualness.
In the evening, the Hollywood star set new standards with his casual style. Instead of a tight, tailored suit like 007 would have worn, Craig wore a gray-blue jacket to the BAFTA NYC Tea Party, underneath a white multi-button shirt, and beige baggy-style pants. Glasses with blue-tinted lenses and tan suede Birkenstock shoes completed the look.
Daniel Craig is currently setting new standards in his career, and not just with his outfits. In his new film “Queer,” Craig delivers the best performance of his acting career, according to the industry magazine “Variety.” In the romantic drama by Italian director Luca Guadagnino (53), the former screen agent plays the American emigrant William Lee in Mexico City in the 1950s, who enters into a romance with a younger man.

The drama, with its explicit love scenes, thrilled a packed cinema at its world premiere during the Venice Film Festival at the beginning of September. The film, which is based on the novella of the same name by William S. Burroughs (1914-1997), received around nine minutes of standing ovations and cheers.
