P. Diddy: Now his mother intervenes with angry words

While P. Diddy remains in custody, the rapper is receiving public support from his mother. She describes the allegations against her son as lies.

In the midst of multiple allegations of abuse against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, his mother is now coming to his aid. Janice Small Combs issued a statement on Sunday through her attorney Natlie G. Figgers and on behalf of the Combs family, which was published by various US media outlets. In it she condemns a public lynching of her son and emphasizes that he is not “the monster they made him out to be.” New accusations have been made against the musician for weeks, including accusations of human trafficking and sexual assault.

P. Diddy’s mother: “A pain too unbearable to put into words”

Janice Small Combs admitted her son was not perfect and had “made mistakes in the past, like all of us,” but said he was not guilty of the allegations against him. “It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth but for a story created from lies,” she wrote. “Witnessing my son being publicly lynched before he had a chance to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words.” She further emphasized: “Like every person, my son deserves to be in court, to finally present his side and prove his innocence.”

The statement was released five days after the indictment was announced that Combs faces 120 more charges in addition to the 12 he was already facing. Attorney Tony Buzbee said Oct. 1 that he represents several men and women who accuse Combs of sex crimes dating back to 1991. Many claim they were raped after being drugged. Minors are also said to be among the victims, such as a nine-year-old boy.

A year ago, Combs was able to settle a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, who had accused him of rape and abuse. He denied the allegations, but then a video emerged in May showing him physically attacking her in a hotel. Two days later, he said he was “truly sorry” for what had happened. In her statement, Janice Combs acknowledged that her son had lied about the incident, but offered an explanation: “My son may not have been completely truthful about some things, such as when he denied ever being violent toward an ex-girlfriend to be, even though surveillance of the hotel showed the opposite.” Sometimes, however, truth and lies are “so intertwined that it becomes scary to admit part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or too complicated to be believed.”

She criticizes that her son’s dignity is being taken away

Janice Combs further argued that just because her son lied about this, he is not guilty of the “repugnant allegations and serious allegations.” “Many people who were wrongfully convicted and later acquitted were deprived of their freedom not because they were guilty of the crimes they were accused of, but because they did not fit the image of what this society considers a ‘good person,'” she continued continued. It hurt her to hear all the “jokes” at her son’s expense and that he wasn’t given the opportunity to tell his side of the story.

The “lies that are thrown at him” are motivated by people “who want financial gain, not justice.” Janice Combs continued, “False allegations of sexual assault prevent true victims of sexual violence from receiving the justice they deserve.” This “injustice” is “unbearable” for the entire family. “The worst part of this ordeal is watching my beloved son have his dignity stripped away, not for what he did, but for what people want to believe about him.”

Sean Combs, who was successful under names like P. Diddy and Puff Daddy, has been in custody since mid-September after being indicted by a grand jury in New York. The court twice refused to release him on bail worth millions of dollars.
