Actors Sam Riley (44) and Alexandra Maria Lara (45) have been married for 15 years – now the British actor has revealed that the two of them are not immune to conflicts in the household. “Apparently I’m loading the dishwasher wrong,” Riley told Bunte magazine. “I’m watching Alexandra to copy it. But I’m still doing it wrong.”
He first met Lara in London in 2006 in a rehearsal room. The two appeared together in front of the camera for the film “Control” (2007) about the singer of the band “Joy Division”. “She was slim, tall, elegant, nervous. I think all the guys in the room were in love, like me. But I was faster and smarter. I jumped up to say hello to her.” He revealed that he still finds his wife very attractive. She moves like a big cat.
Riley: Gets “very nervous and self-absorbed” before a movie
When asked how he managed to be married for 15 years, Riley replied: “How did she do it, is the question!” Living together could be difficult, he admitted. But his wife has infinite patience and understanding. “I love acting, it makes me feel like I’m in my world. But before I start a film, I get very nervous and self-absorbed.” His entire focus is on work. “I then try to remember that I am also a husband and a father.”
Riley and Lara have a son together and live in Berlin.
