The POT is planning a manned mission to Mars to investigate the geological enigmas of the planet. The round trip will take between six and seven months each way, covering up to 402 million kilometers in each direction. Astronauts could spend up to 500 days on Mars before returning to Earth, with exploration and scientific discovery as the main objective.
