Kate Cassidy and Cheryl Cole: touching farewell to Liam Payne

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy and his son’s mother, Cheryl Cole, have said goodbye to the late musician.

Kate Cassidy mourns the loss of her partner. One Direction star Liam Payne (1993-2024) died last Wednesday (October 16) at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. “I would like to thank you for all the kind words and love that have been sent my way,” Cassidy began on Friday (October 18).

Kate Cassidy: ‘Nothing felt real’

The influencer, who had been in a relationship with Payne since October 2022, also wrote: “I was completely lost, nothing in the last few days felt real.” She asks the public “to give me the space to deal with this situation privately.” She ended her message with farewell words to her late boyfriend: “Liam, my angel. I want you to know that I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam. “

Just hours before his death, Liam Payne published videos in which he shared impressions of his time with his girlfriend in Argentina, according to Sky News. The videos had to have been taken a few days earlier because his partner had then returned to Florida, as pictures on her social media accounts show. There she had to look after their dog.

Liam Payne also leaves behind son Bear (7), who comes from his relationship with pop star Cheryl Cole (41), with whom he was in a relationship from 2015 to 2018. In 2018 he got together with model Maya Henry, and two years later the two got engaged. After a separation, the second engagement followed, which the couple broke off again in May 2022.

Cheryl Cole: “Liam wasn’t just a pop star”

Cheryl Cole also spoke out on Friday and sent a sad and critical message. “As I try to come to terms with this devastating event and process my own grief during this indescribably painful time, I would like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being,” she wrote alongside a black-and-white photo that Payne shared with her shows his then newborn son. Payne was not only a pop star and a celebrity, “he was also a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our seven-year-old son. A son who now has to face the harsh reality that his father never did to see you again.”

It breaks her heart because she knows that she cannot protect her son from the sometimes “disgusting” media reports of the past two days. Hence her request: “Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you want your own child or family to read them. Please give Liam what little dignity he has left after his death so that he can finally be in Peace can rest.”
