Angelina Jolie didn’t wear a glamor gown at the London Film Festival, but rather an elegant men’s suit.
Angelina Jolie (49) attended the 68th BFI London Film Festival on Friday (October 18). To the gala screening of her film “Maria” in the Royal Festival Hall, the US actress did not wear a glittering glamor gown, but instead opted for black elegance.
Jolie chose a classic three-piece men’s suit from Dolce & Gabbana. It included slim trousers, a jacket and a vest with a deep neckline, which the actor left unbuttoned at the bottom, revealing a little skin. She combined black leather boots and teardrop-shaped gold earrings with the suit and let her long hair fall in light waves over her shoulders. When it came to make-up, she used mascara and nude-colored lipstick.
Role as an opera star
In the film “Maria” the 49-year-old portrays opera star Maria Callas (1923-1977), who died of a heart attack at the age of 53. At its world premiere, the work received an eight-minute standing ovation. In the USA, “Maria” will be shown in selected cinemas on November 27th and on the streaming service Netflix from December 11th. The German audience will have to be patient longer – the film will be in cinemas here in February.
The biopic directed by Pablo Larraín (48) is intended to retell the life story of one of the most important sopranos of the 20th century. After “Jackie” and “Spencer”, it is the director’s third film about fascinating women. The script comes from Steven Knight (65, “Spencer”, “Peaky Blinders”).
