Liam Payne: He left rehab a few weeks ago

According to the media, Liam Payne was admitted to a rehab clinic in the summer. He is said to have stopped the therapy 48 hours later.

Former One Direction singer Liam Payne (1993-2024) started a withdrawal treatment a few weeks before his death, but stopped it just two days later. At the end of July he tried to “defeat his drug and alcohol demons” at the renowned London rehabilitation clinic The Priory. He had previously enrolled in a 28-day inpatient addiction treatment program there, but to the horror of his family and friends, he left the facility just 48 hours later.

During his time in the clinic, he hardly left his room and did not attend joint therapy sessions with other sick people, according to “The Sun” source. However, he started a drug therapy with sedatives, which is primarily used to treat withdrawal symptoms.

Liam Payne died after falling from his hotel room

Liam Payne died aged 31 after falling from a hotel room in Buenos Aires. Although the investigation is still ongoing, it already seems clear that Payne was using drugs immediately before his death. According to the responsible public prosecutor’s office, this would also indicate the location of Payne, who apparently did not try to protect himself from the fall. There are therefore indications that he was in a state of semi- or complete unconsciousness at the time of the incident.

The source also told The Sun that Payne was actually working on overcoming his addiction once and for all: “He really wanted to get his life together. Everyone who loved him was rooting for him.” That’s precisely why there would have been consternation in those close to him when they learned that Payne was breaking off his withdrawal treatment after just a few hours. As the article goes on to say, one night of the strict detoxification program at The Priory costs the equivalent of around 6,000 euros.
