News anchor Susanne Daubner is celebrating her youth word comeback. It was supposed to be over, but now she’s returned.
The youth word of 2024 is “aura”. No one demonstrates how it could be put into a sentence according to modern usage as beautifully as Susanne Daubner (63). The “tagesschau” spokeswoman and presenter announced via social media at the end of July when the nominated phrases were announced that she would “like to let others go first.” She also joked why “Daubnern” wasn’t actually an option.

Daubner’s youth word posts have become a real cult on social media and in memes in recent years. Apparently the news anchor took to heart the feedback from fans who were keen to see her continue as part of the announcement. , which was published, among other things, on the “tagesschau” Instagram account, Daubner is celebrating her return.
“Nobody does it better,” it says in the attached comment. “Dear community, your comments amazed and touched me so much,” explains Daubner in the short clip. “I have read almost all of them and I have to say, you have convinced me. So: Yes, I am here for you again and will continue to proclaim the words of youth for you.”
And Daubner does that directly. “Here comes the youth word 2024. It is ‘aura’. Aura describes the personal charisma. Example: I was simply replaced by an AI – minus 5,000 aura.” Fans, on the other hand, should be sure that Daubner made more than 5,000 aura plus with the post. The Langenscheidt publishing house had previously announced that “Aura” had won this year’s election. “Talahon” and “Schere” will take second and third place in 2024.
