The Berlin Film Festival revealed the 18 films in its Official Competition

In addition, although the festival will not give up the presence of international figures and galas for the world premieres of the films in competition, there will be no parties or nighttime celebrations, usual in this type of festival.

The official selection of the 72nd edition of Berlin will open on Thursday the 10th with the film “Peter von Kant”, starring Denis Ménochet, Isabelle Adjani and Hanna Schygulla and a rereading by Frenchman Francis Ozon of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s 1972 classic “The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant”.

Among the selection of 18 films reported today by specialized sites, seven of them were directed by women and the films “Both Sides of the Leaf” by Claire Denis and starring Juliette Binoche stand out; Sang-soo’s “The Novelist Movie”; “Everything Will Be Alright” by Rithy Panh; and “Dark Glasses” by Dario Argento.

In addition to “Robe of Gems”, the debut feature by Bolivian Natalia López Gallardo, which is a co-production between Mexico, Argentina and the United States, the national presence shines in sections such as Competition Encounters (with “A Little Love Package”, by Gastón Solnicki , co-produced by Argentina and Austria); Berlinale Special (with “Terminal Norte”, the short film by Lucrecia Martel); Forum (with the documentaries “Camouflage”, by Jonathan Perel, and “The Middle Ages” by Alejo Moguillansky, Luciana Acuña).

Argentina will also be present in the Generation 14Plus sections (with “Sublime”, Mariano Biasin’s first film); Generation KPlus (with the short “An invisible apprentice” by Emilia Herbst), Berlinale Series (with “Iosi, the repentant spy” by Daniel Burman and Sebastián Borensztein headed by Natalia Oreiro); Talent project Market (“The Promised Land” by Emiliano Torres) and at the Berlinale Co-production Market (“Las Corrientes” by Milagros Mumenthaler).
