Prince Harry: Diana’s son meets John Travolta again

Prince Harry (40) will be back in the spotlight in the coming days. The Duke of Sussex will take part in the 22nd annual ceremony of the “Living Legends of Aviation” in the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on April 25th. At the glamorous event, the Royal will meet Hollywood greats such as John Travolta (71) and Morgan Freeman (87).

Harry, who was honored as a “Living Legend” last year, will honor the fire brigade pilots together with other celebrities who were in use at the beginning of the year to combat the forest fires in Los Angeles.

The Duke of Sussex and his wife, Duchess Meghan (43), were committed to the victims of the devastating fires in January. At that time, the couple distributed food and relief supplies to those affected and met with firefighters who fought against the flames.

Harry’s participation in the event ties in with his own experience as a helicopter pilot during his ten -year career in the British army. The royal was trained in the USA, Great Britain and Australia and flew combat missions in Afghanistan. In 2010 he received his “Flying Wings” from Army Aviation Center after the eight -month pilot training. His father, King Charles (76), presented him with the flight badge – as he had done in 2008 with Prince William (42).

John Travolta will again act as a host and “aviation ambassador” for the 2025 ceremony. In his speech in his speech last year, Harry made himself the “Saturday Night Fever” star and teased him because he was still enthusiastic about his famous dance with Harry’s mother, the late princess Diana (1961-1997), during a visit to the White House in 1985.

“I was a year old when you danced with my mother,” the Duke joked at the time. “But look at us now, it’s great. If we don’t dance together, we will fly together.”

The new “Living Legends”, which are honored at the 2025 event, are Christopher Cassidy, a former Navy Seal and NASA astronaut with three space flights, ten space walks and 377 days in space. In addition, Robert “Hoot” Gibson, a former astronaut, navy fight pilot and air separation pilot, as well as Tom Costello, NBC’s senior aviation and space correspondent and Emmy price-crowned reporter, are honored. At this year’s ceremony, Dr. Buzz Aldrin Space Advancement Award awarded to the Polaris Dawn Crew.
