Jan Josef Liefers can be seen in the cinema in the social comedy “Old White Man”. He now explains in an interview why he wouldn’t have a chance at home with such an attitude.
Actor Jan Josef Liefers likes to challenge his two daughters in debates. “My daughters Lilly and Lola are now at an age where they are developing very strong opinions,” said Liefers in an interview with the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”. “And I love discussing with them. Sometimes I deliberately take on a contrary role. Simply because I think it’s great how they fight and find even better arguments to finally knock me out on the boards .” The actor cited the topic of gender as an example.
Jan Josef Liefers stars in cliché comedy
Liefers has been appearing in Simon Verhoeven’s social comedy “Old White Man” since Thursday. In it he plays father Heinz, who does everything he can to avoid conforming to the cliché of the old white man who is considered arrogant and insists on long-outdated views.
Liefers sees no danger for himself. “In my family, I’m surrounded by very self-confident women. At home, I wouldn’t get away with it for a second if I seriously displayed an old-white-macho-man attitude.” Liefers is married to the actress and singer Anna Loos.
