Now, Morales suffered a new criminal complaint, but this time it was filed by the Apollo Foundationthe organization that fights against corruption in Argentina, the country in which the complaint was filed. In it, He is accused of crimes linked to human trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation and abuse of minors.

According to the complaint, various sources indicate that Morales lived in Argentina, during his stay between 2019 and 2020, with minors who had been transferred from Boliviain presumably vulnerable conditions, in order to carry out domestic and personal tasks in a context that, according to testimonies, would set up a pattern of exploitation and abuse of power.

Besides, Angelica Ponceformer Bolivian intercultural leader and close friend of Morales, denounced that during her visits to the politician in Argentina, He observed minors fulfilling roles that he described as “servile” in the former president’s residence. Ponce also stated that Morales received “girls as gifts” of those who wanted to obtain government favors, adding that this type of events was widely known in circles close to the former president.

The foundation recalled other similar episodes, such as when, for example, in 2020 Bolivian media spread information about an alleged relationship between Morales and Noemí Meneses Chávez, a young woman who I would have been only 14 years old when the link began.

Finally, they urged “Argentine Justice to initiate an exhaustive investigation to determine whether Morales incurred actions punishable under the local legal framework and to protect the rights of possible victims.”

The investigation into Morales and his defense

At the beginning of October, the Minister of Justice, Cesar Silesrevealed that Morales -whose mandate extended from 2006 to 2019- is being investigated for rape: “We have observed with indignation serious crimes that seek to remain unpunished: I am specifically referring to a girl, a girl raped at 15, at 16 years old.“.

According to Siles, “as a result of that rape (the mother) fathered another girl and the father recognized on a birth certificate, (is) Mr. Evo Morales Ayma“And he added: “There is an open process” that “is under investigation”at a press conference.

Later, from Cochabamba, the former president responded to Siles’ accusation: “I cannot understand what kind of Minister of Justice we have, knowing that this case is closed, because there was nothing, it is a lie”. Currently, Morales is in a fierce dispute with Arce ahead of the 2025 presidential elections.

According to the former president, the government of his former minister revived four processes to harm him politically, including the alleged abuse of the minor, and he seemed confident: “They have investigated all year, and there is going to be nothing. It is another lie”. In 2020, the government of Jeanine Áñez “using the Ministry of Justice already prosecuted me, already investigated me, and it has been proven that there was nothing,” he added, and showed a judicial resolution from that year, where, according to him, the complaint of “aggravated rape and corruption (of) a child, adolescent” is rejected..

On his social networks, Morales assured that the government is acting in retaliation for the march he led against President Arce in recent days, and which brought together thousands of indigenous people who protested against the shortage of fuel and dollars.

In a message on X, he noted: ”This dirty and lying campaign has the objective of politically nullifying any electoral option that represents an alternative to get out of the economic crisis.”

The arrest resolution against Morales indicates that in 2015 the then president became involved with a 15-year-old minor with whom he had a daughter the following year. Asked by a journalist about this topic, Morales avoided answering by stating that “don’t mess with the family; the family is sacred.”
