Chloë Grace Moretz (27) celebrated her coming out in an election call. The actress announced that she voted for Kamala Harris (60) in the US presidential election. She also shared a picture of her sticker with the inscription “I voted early”. “There is so much at stake in this election,” she continued her message.
Actress calls herself a “lesbian woman”
Moretz made reference to her sexuality a crucial issue for her: “As a lesbian woman, I believe in the need for legal protection for the LGBTQ+ community. We need protection in this country and must have access to the care we need and that we deserve.”
In her contribution, she also cited the self-determination of women as the basis for her voting decision. “I believe that the government has no right over my body as a woman and that decisions about my body should only be made by me and my doctor,” she elaborated. Kamala Harris will work for this, she wrote. At the end of her message, she called on her followers to vote early like she did.
“Allies of the LGBT community”
The actress has been “a long-time supporter and ally of the LGBT community.” In 2018, she played a lesbian teenager who undergoes conversion therapy in the film “The Miseducation of Cameron Post.” Her two homosexual brothers were confronted with similar thoughts. As she described, they tried to “pray away the gayness.” Despite having a progressive-thinking mother, they “struggled with a lot of self-hatred” after coming out.
Moretz himself has been linked to model Kate Harrison since 2018. Among other things, published paparazzi pictures show the two kissing in front of a restaurant in Malibu, California. The two have not yet confirmed a relationship. However, they shared photos together on Instagram at the end of September. Both of their names also share a place card. The model also gave a hint of a possible relationship with a picture of herself and Moretz in New York City, a lesbian protest and visibility march.
