Who will win the US election is still completely open. Kamala Harris now seems to have won the race for the better sense of humor.
Donald Trump (78) is not the only one who can do PR stunts that attract media attention. Shortly after the Republican presidential candidate swung into a high-visibility vest and garbage truck with slight difficulty, Vice President Kamala Harris (60) made a self-deprecating appearance on the comedy show “Saturday Night Live.” There she met her doppelganger, played by comedian Maya Rudolph (52), and gave herself a motivational speech, so to speak.
“I wish I could talk to someone who would be in my shoes,” begins Rudolph, dressed as Harris. “With a black, South Asian woman running for president – and at best from the Bay Area.” She then turns to a “mirror” in which the real Kamala Harris appears to thunderous applause. “I wish that too, sister,” Harris replies.
“You can open doors”
She then gives her “SNL” double a stirring motivational speech in which her opponent Trump gets rid of his fat: “It’s good to see you, Kamala. I’m just here to remind you: You can do it! Because you can something your opponent can’t do – you can open doors.” The gag was a reference to Trump’s garbage man action on October 30 in the US state of Wisconsin, when he visibly had problems opening the door of the garbage truck and even stumbled slightly in the process.
But Kamala Harris also took aim at herself: When Rudolph starts to laugh at her door joke, Harris asks in shock: “I don’t really laugh like that, do I?” During the course of the election campaign, numerous moderators on the Trump-loyal Fox News channel were repeatedly annoyed by Harris’ supposedly hysterical laughter.
Rudolph then asserts that the people of the USA don’t care at all about her laughter. What the Americans really want: “Stop the chaos and end the drama!”
A video of the two women has already been uploaded in which they do a little dance with their exact same outfits and hairstyles and promise: “We are not the same person.”
The election of the 47th US President is coming up in a few days, and the US population will cast their vote on November 5th. However, since the race for the White House is considered to be closer than ever before, it will probably be a few days longer before Harris or Trump can be announced as the winner.
