John Krasinski: Star of “The Office” is “Sexiest Man Alive”

It’s not necessarily the most important award for Hollywood stars to win, but being crowned “Sexiest Man Alive” still causes a stir every year. The celebrity magazine “People” awarded the title for the first time in 1985 – back then to actor Mel Gibson. This year one of the superstars from the hit series “The Office” can be happy. John Krasinski was named the magazine’s most attractive man of the year.

Krasinski’s wife, actress Emily Blunt, is likely to be particularly enthusiastic about this. She jokingly said that she wanted to wallpaper their house in Brooklyn with his cover photo. “My kids are going to love it, it won’t be weird at all,” Krasinski said of his wife’s plans.

The new title is also likely to have an effect on his role in the shared home, he suspects in an interview with “People”. However, not to his advantage. “I think this will make me more “Doing housework,” said Krasinski. “When this comes out, she’ll say, ‘Well, that means you have to earn it right here at home,'” jokes the “Office” star.

Krasinski is the successor to “Grey’s Anatomy” star Patrick Dempsey, who won the title late last year. So far, only three Hollywood stars have received multiple awards. Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Johnny Depp each won the title twice.

Most people will know Krasinski as the humorous prankster Jim from “The Office.” In recent years, however, he has increasingly made a name for himself as a filmmaker. Most recently he was responsible for the children’s film “If”, which he wrote, produced, directed and took on a role himself. However, it took a while for him to become respected as a filmmaker. Krasinski told People that he had to pitch the idea to the studio dozens of times. “I’m pretty sure someone said, ‘Excuse me, is Jim from The Office going to direct?’ And I said, ‘Oh, it’s John, but we’ll figure it out,'” he recalls.
