Designer Harald Glööckler talks in an interview about his 30th company anniversary, his life in Berlin and his sports and beauty program.

Harald Glööckler (59) will be seen in the second season of “Herr Glööckler sucht das Glück” from November 13th (Wednesday, 9:15 p.m. on RTLzwei). In an interview with the news agency spot on news, the designer and entrepreneur reveals how the 30th anniversary of his “Pompöös” fashion is celebrated in his documentary soap and what, however, is not discussed in the new episodes. He also explains what changed his move from Kirchheim to Berlin and why his beauty procedures are not planned.

The second season “Mr. Glööckler is looking for happiness” is, among other things, about your 30th anniversary; in 1994 you organized your first fashion show in Stuttgart. What does the anniversary mean to you?

Harald Glööckler: Normally I’m not that sentimental and don’t look back, but when you celebrate 30 years of successful big shows as an artist, that shouldn’t be underestimated. Or rather, you can give yourself a pat on the back.

What will viewers see in the season of your fashion anniversary show and what was it like filming for it?

Glööckler: The spectators will be there first hand – from the beginning to the big finale. You will experience a haute couture show as it is planned and realized. That’s very interesting, especially the many challenges that you have to face every now and then so that a show like this is really realized the way the designer imagines.

In the new episodes you should also be seen in private surroundings, such as shopping at the hardware store or cooking with friends. How is your private person different from the public person?

Glööckler: Of course, the private person Harald differs from the public person. You won’t really see the private person Harald on television. But there are still private, intimate insights through the keyhole.

Her relationship life also played a role in the past episodes. Will this also be an issue in the new episodes?

Glööckler: I think my relationship life was discussed enough in the last season. We will focus on other topics this season.

You moved from Kirchheim to Berlin two years ago and left your villa behind you. How are you feeling about it today?

Glööckler: I’m feeling wonderful. I really enjoy living in Berlin. I feel very comfortable there. Somehow I – and I think the Berliners also had – the feeling that I never left. I have more inquiries at the moment than ever before. There is no standstill for Harald Glööckler.

In the documentary soap and also on Instagram you give insights into your beauty procedures or your sports program. To what extent do you want to optimize yourself in the near future? Do you have any concrete plans?

Glööckler: I exercise regularly. So after the sport is before the sport and after the operation is before the operation. But you shouldn’t imagine that there is an operation plan, but rather that something will be done when it is necessary.

This year you published the autobiography “Disaströös bis POMPÖÖS”. What did you want readers to know about you and how satisfied are you with the result?

Glööckler: I am very satisfied with the result of my autobiography. I asked myself the questions: Do we really need another biography of a personality? Then I thought to myself, at the end of the day it’s not just a biography, but rather a guide for many people. A life guide. I have dedicated my entire life to women. At the age of six, I decided to make all women princesses, to create a more beautiful and better world and was also the first fashion designer to create elegant, wearable fashion at low prices for full-figured women.

You are also a judge on “My Style Rocks”. What is it like for you to judge someone else based on their styling? How do you experience your role as a juror?

Glööckler: It’s not my first appearance on a jury. I was already on the “Let’s Dance” jury and “Curvy Supermodel”. In that respect it is nothing new. I have no problem judging others based on their styling or appearance. After all, that is my job as a juror. It’s a wonderful format that I really enjoy and absolutely enriches German television.

You have a documentary soap and have been on reality TV. Is there anything else you would like to do on television?

Glööckler: Well, the next one will probably be my own show, the “Harald Glööckler Late Night Show”. (laughs)

The year is slowly coming to an end. What is your personal balance sheet for 2024 and what do you want for 2025?

Glööckler: For me it was a great year full of events and wonderful moments that I am very grateful for. I wish myself happiness, joy, health, peace in the world and lots of gifts for 2025.

Do you already know how you will celebrate Christmas and with whom you will celebrate Christmas this year?

Glööckler: One person is definitely certain: that’s my sweet little Papillon, Billy King. And we’ll see the rest.

What is important to you in terms of fashion, decoration and food at Christmas?

Glööckler: Oh, for me it changes a lot with the decoration. Sometimes touristy, sometimes very traditional. What you can’t miss on Christmas Eve is butter, pasta with truffles, caviar and champagne.
