This request comes a few days before the first meeting between President Javier Milei and his Brazilian counterpart at the G20 summit, which will take place next week in Rio de Janeiro.
A month ago the Supreme Court of Brazil asked Argentina to extradite the fugitives and this Friday federal judge Daniel Rafecas requested the arrestsafter having received the file from the Foreign Ministry in Buenos Aires.
There are already two Brazilians detained
According to reports, two Brazilian citizens have already been arrested, both in La Plata, and it is expected that operations will continue to locate the remaining people involved. The two are accused of “attempted coup d’état” and other related crimes, such as “destruction of public property” and “criminal association.”
All those involved managed to cross the border into Argentina after the events in Brasilia, where they participated in the riots in Planalto, the headquarters of the government, and other offices.
During their intervention in the outrages that occurred in Brasilia, the protesters denounced an alleged electoral fraud, which led to Lula’s victory in the elections, and for this reason they requested the participation of the Armed Forces to prevent the inauguration of the new president.
