For some, Donald Trump is the embodiment of the devil, but for Sylvester Stallone he resembles the son of God. The actor draws even more comparisons.
US President-Elect and Son of God? Sylvester Stallone praised Donald Trump in a short speech at a gala at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Stallone compared Trump to his well-known film characters Rocky Balboa and Jesus. Among other things, Stallone’s speech can be seen in one.
The action star talks about the opening scene of the boxing drama released in 1976, in which a picture of Jesus can initially be seen. Rocky Balboa, portrayed by Stallone, is then hit in the face in the ring. “In that moment he became a chosen one and that’s how my journey began – something would happen, this man would undergo a metamorphosis and change lives, just like President Trump,” the actor said in his speech. Stallone continued: “We are in the presence of a truly mythical figure. I love mythology. […] No one in the world could have done what he did, so I’m in awe.”
Sylvester Stallone brings George Washington into play
The Hollywood star also compared the politician and entrepreneur to the first President of the United States, George Washington. “When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea he would change the world. […] Guess what? We have [hier] the second George Washington,” Trump was greeted on stage by Stallone.
In contrast to Stallone or the tech billionaire Elon Musk, who was also present, many stars and personalities spoke out against Trump before and after the US election. For example the singer Billie Eilish. “Someone who hates women so much will soon be the President of the United States of America,” she said during a recent concert. In a story on Instagram she spoke of a “war against women”.
