Prince William and his family were sleeping in a nearby cottage when the burglars came. Vehicles were stolen from a farm near Windsor Castle.
Unknown perpetrators managed to steal two vehicles from the property around Windsor Castle during a nighttime break-in. According to operating reports, heir to the throne Prince William and his family were sleeping just a few minutes away at the time. King Charles III and Queen Camilla were not at the property at the time in question, report British media, including the Sun and BBC, citing the local police authority.
The royal estate around Windsor Castle covers a very large and expansive area, about the size of 9,000 football fields. There are several farms and detached buildings there. The theft took place on one of the farms. Adelaide Cottage, where William, Princess Kate and the couple’s children live, is a few minutes from the crime scene. According to the BBC report, there was no specific danger to the family. The royals are constantly guarded by police officers.
The burglars stole a pickup truck and a quad bike. Even more than a month after the incident on October 13th, they have not yet been caught. The search was underway.
