Parrilla La Vuelta opened its doors in July of this year and positioned itself as a must-see stop in Barrio Naón, Mataderos, where it pays tribute to the area traditionally linked to the meat industry. The relaxed atmosphere and warm service invite you to feel at home and offers premium cuts and unconventional salads.
A little far from the city center, Parrilla La Vuelta is located almost on the corner of Montiel and Ercilla, in the heart of the Mataderos neighborhood. There is an attractive deck on the sidewalk, with tables for 30 people and adaptable to any time of the year. And, opposite this, the interior of the place, which is small and cozy, with few tables. There, the bar stands out, from which the dishes come out.

The place takes advantage of the distance from the noisy center and offers an experience that immediately transports you to the homemade barbecue, where one is relaxed and shares cuts of meat, salads, garnishes and grilled vegetables. Along these lines, there are alternatives such as marucha and arañita—in some ways, the stars of the house—which are rare in restaurants and are reserved for barbecues among friends. And also, of course, the most requested traditional cuts.

Another striking factor are the appetizers, with a restaurant feel, as they have options such as chard fritters and meat empanadas, which are fried. The same thing happens with salads, since the menu shows combinations that are more common in homes and unusual in restaurants, where there is usually another type of variety. The plus comes in the vintage-style bread basket (made of plastic and bright colors), with all artisanal and original products, made with sourdough, such as fried cakes, focaccias, country bread and flauta. And the presence of the siphons, which refer to tradition and the neighborhood.
In the same vein that suggests closeness and sharing like in the family home or among friends, the desserts are mostly homemade. An example is the orange flan with dulce de leche, which is based on a recipe from the chef’s grandmother, Fernando Fontana.
Currently, Barrio Naón continues to add original proposals to the growing gastronomic pole and thus presents places for those who want to get away a little – without going too far – from the chaos of the city and try, as in this case, roasts with different cuts.
