Within the framework of the event held in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Law of the University of the city of Buenos Aires, the judge Ricardo Lorenzetti, Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation and a reference in the field of environmental law, was awarded the medal of honor from the World Jurist Association.

The award ceremony was announced by Juan Pablo Gallego, representative of the organization in Argentina. While its president highlighted Lorenzetti’s work as an “impeccable career.” The distinction will be awarded next May 2025 in the Dominican Republic.
Lorenzetti, known for his tireless work in promoting environmental policies in the country, was one of the most notable speakers at the meeting.
Charly Alberti, former drummer of the legendary rock band Soda Stereo and founder of R21, an organization dedicated to environmental awareness, also participated in the congress. Also speaking were Pedro Saborido, screenwriter, writer and producer who contributed his particular vision on culture and the environment, and Minister Antonio Herman Benjamin, judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Brazil and one of the most prominent figures in environmental law in Latin America.
The meeting owes inspiration to the ExpoTerra Foundation project, which seeks to raise awareness and educate about climate change and provide real solutions.
The congress, which has become an annual benchmark and was attended by more than 500 registrants and guests, addressed crucial topics such as current environmental legislation, strategies to mitigate climate change, the protection of biodiversity and environmental justice. . This edition will provide a space where attendees can present their ideas within the framework of the Argentine Congress of Environmental Law.
Among the main objectives were the creation of collaboration networks between the different actors involved and the promotion of public policies that promote the protection and conservation of the environment in the country.
