Three years after the brutal crime of Lucio Dupuy: the case against his teachers, his murderers and the latent memory

Furthermore, the child was a victim of “recent and old sexual abuse” and suffered a multiple trauma due to blows that caused death.

Almost a year after the case, the relatives decided to take action against the little boy’s doctors and teachers for negligence and omission since medical reports reported that Lucio repeatedly entered the hospital ward with multiple injuries, but it was never reported.

During these three years the case was against all those involved. In mid-February 2023 the Oral Court of Santa Rosa sentenced Valenti and Páez to life imprisonment.

In December of the same year, the jury against the judge began. Ana Clara Pérez Ballester and the advisor Elisa Alejandra Catan for “not fulfilling his professional duties” to prevent the boy’s death.

After several hearings, the Judicial Branch of The Pampa decided to absolve Ballester and Catan by unanimously concluding that the officials were not responsible for the subsequent murder of the minor at the hands of his mother and her partner, so they reported that they must return to their duties immediately.

In the middle of these two trials, the Senate approved the Pike Law in which a mandatory and permanent training program is established on issues related to the prevention and early detection of violence against children.
