After more than six months since its announcement, the Government confirmed that the authorization for a additional driver drive a vehicle will be carried out through the App My Argentinareplacing the blue card which stopped airing in May.
It is worth pointing out that since resolution 29/2024, around 1,500,000 vehicle purchase and transfer operations, including 220,000 new cars, 830,000 used cars, 215,000 new motorcycles and 210,000 used motorcycles. However, until now, the owners of these vehicles have not been able to authorize other drivers to use them.
Final point for the blue card: the Government confirmed the authorization of third parties to drive vehicles
The measure, detailed in Provision 343/2024, will allow Vehicle owners authorize third parties to drive, showing the Digital Identification Card in the app profilealthough the owner will continue to appear as the owner in the document.
This change simplifies the process, avoiding the issuance of physical documents, and allows you to revoke or extend permissions digitally.
However, the Government is still working on solving the challenge of making this digital system valid in neighboring countries, since they must standardize the format so that holders and authorized persons can cross borders without inconvenience.
This is being managed in conjunction with the Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairsin anticipation of an increase in trips by Argentines to neighboring countries during the summer holidays.
