“We didn’t expect this award. “We work like every day, like every night, in the restaurant, and I am very happy for a lot of reasons,” said Pablo Rivero, owner of Don Julio, upon receiving the award.
“For the team we give everything. Very happy for my country, for my culture, I am surprised and I want to congratulate all my colleagues, especially Micha, which is the best restaurant in the world. I think this time the best restaurant did not win , but the most beloved”, they mentioned from Don Julio.
What they said about Don Julio from 50 Best
“A family business made with love, a tribute to the flavors and terroirs of Argentina, a temple of regenerative agriculture: Don Julio is all this and much more,” they highlighted from 50 Best. They also praised his “homemade philosophy”, highlighting that “Almost everything you can find on Don Julio’s menu comes from the restaurant’s own farm.”.
Regarding Don Julio’s menu, the judges maintained that “choosing from the extensive list may seem like attending a master class in beef anatomy, but whatever your choice (the thick entrecôte, a giant T-bone, the favorite flank steak or the famous spiral sausage), the combination of smokiness, nutty flavor and sweetness of the meat will leave you speechless.”
From 50 Best, they also recommend visiting the Don Julio winery “where there are 60,000 bottles that cover the entire Argentine territory” to be able to “live the full experience.”
