After “Desperate Housewives” ended, Eva Longoria and Co. took different career paths.
The cult series “Desperate Housewives” flickered across television screens for eight years. The ABC show from creator Marc Cherry (62) made big stars out of the leading actresses Teri Hatcher (59), Felicity Huffman (61), Marcia Cross (62) and fan favorite Eva Longoria (49). The “Desperate Housewives” quartet is said to have earned around $350,000 per episode in the final eighth season of the series. But how have the careers of the desperate housewives developed after the series ended and in the past few years?
Teri Hatcher played main character Susan Mayer
Teri Hatcher was nominally the leading lady of Desperate Housewives. Even before the ABC series, she celebrated successes, such as being a Bond girl in “James Bond 007 – Tomorrow Never Dies”. After the series ended, Hatcher took it easy. She appeared in eight episodes of the superhero series “Supergirl”.
Fans of “Desperate Housewives” might particularly enjoy the Christmas film “A Kiss Before Christmas.” The romantic Hallmark television film reunites Hatcher in front of the camera with her former “Desperate Housewives” partner James Denton (played by Mike Delfino, 61).
Eva Longoria played Gabrielle Solis
The American actress Eva Longoria became a global star through “Desperate Housewives” – and celebrated the greatest successes in the film and television business after the series ended. Longoria most recently appeared in the fourth season of the acclaimed murder mystery comedy “Only Murders in the Building” and played a leading role in the series “Land of Women” on the streaming service Apple TV+.
Longoria was also present on the big screen, taking on a role in the adventure film “Dora and the Golden City”.
But the popular star behind the camera celebrated even greater success. For example, Longoria produced the comedy series “Devious Maids – Dirty Secrets,” which ran for four seasons. Here, as with “Jane the Virgin,” she also directed the film. She also produced the first “John Wick” film and is currently working on a Latin American version of the French hit series “Call My Agent!”.
Longoria has been married to Mexican producer José Bastón (56) since 2016. The marriage resulted in one child.
Felicity Huffman played Lynette Scavo
Lynette actress Felicity Huffman was also able to land a number of series roles after the end of “Desperate Housewives”. For example, she appeared in the miniseries “When They See Us”, in ten episodes of “Get Shorty” and in three seasons of the anthology series “American Crime”.
However, Huffman made negative headlines with the so-called college admissions scandal. So that one of her two daughters can attend a university of her choice, Huffman should… When everything was discovered, she even had to go to prison for eleven days. She shares two children with her husband William H. Macy (74), known from “Shameless,” among others.
Marcia Cross played Bree Van de Kamp
“Desperate Housewives” star Marcia Cross took a short break from acting after the series ended. Even before “Desperate Housewives” began, she was known for her role in the cult series “Melrose Place.”
When Cross returned to acting in 2015, she appeared, among other things, in an episode of the cult crime series “Law & Order: SVU”, in “Quantico” and in the Netflix hit “You – You will love me”. She shares two children with her husband, actor Tom Mahoney (66).
