Kai Havertz: Football star becomes a father for the first time

A very exciting year for Kai Havertz (25): A few days after the end of the home European Championship, the national soccer player married his long-time girlfriend Sophia, and now the two are crowning their private happiness with their first child together. The two announced on Thursday afternoon (November 28) that they were becoming parents.

“Our greatest blessing,” the couple wrote in a shared post with four black-and-white images, adding a brown heart emoji and a teddy bear. In one photo, the two can be seen arm in arm in front of a mirror; thanks to a crop top, the pregnant woman’s baby bump is clearly visible. Another picture shows the couple’s dog with a baby hat in its mouth. The third photo shows a close-up of the baby bump with the expectant parents’ hands wrapped around it.

Sophia Havertz also shared the dog photo in an Instagram story and joked: “Balou is happy that he will soon have more socks to steal.”

The first congratulations have already started pouring in, including from Manuel Neuer’s (38) wife Anika (24), who commented: “Oh my God! Wow, I can’t wait!!!” Mario Götze’s (32) wife Ann-Kathrin (34) wrote: “Congratulations” and added several heart-eye emojis. Havertz’s national team colleague Benjamin Henrichs (27) congratulated with a prayer and a heart emoji.

Kai Havertz and his Sophia have been a couple since 2018. The two live in London, where Kai Havertz is under contract with Chelsea FC from 2020 to 2023 and with Arsenal FC since 2023.
