Star guest on “Sturm der Liebe”: Bruce Darnell, a prominent guest, checks into the Fürstenhof, providing an extra dose of drama.
Bruce Darnell (67) brings a breath of fresh air to the Fürstenhof in “Sturm der Liebe”. “I definitely bring a good portion of drama with me,” reveals the TV star in an interview with spot on news. From today, November 29th, Darnell himself can be seen in the popular ARD telenovela (3:10 p.m., Das Erste).
The entertainer, juror and model plays himself in his guest appearance and enjoys a break in the five-star hotel in Bichlheim. He has “a lot in his luggage that will really stir up tempers at the royal court.” But it’s not just drama. “Viewers will be taken on an emotional roller coaster ride.”
“Really something special”
Although the former “Germany’s Next Top Model” coach has been a professional in front of the camera for many years, shooting the telenovela was something completely different for Darnell. There was something “magical” about it. “The atmosphere on set, the wonderful backdrop of the Fürstenhof, and above all the deep passion that the entire team puts into every scene – that was really something special.” When preparing, it was important to him to “remain open to the unknown.” He also “allowed himself to be nervous.”
The TV star is himself a fan of the telenovela: “‘Storm of Love’ is like a warm hug for me – full of emotions, hope and sometimes heartbreak,” he reveals. The series reminds him “how complex and beautiful life is, with all its ups and downs.”
In the series, Darnell is taken directly to the hearts of the Sonnbichlers – Hildegard (Antje Hagen, 86) and Alfons (Sepp Schauer, 75). You invite the entertainer to dinner with you. There is Hildegard’s famous roast pork. That’s exactly how the real Bruce Darnell likes it: “A good roast pork with dumplings and cabbage – that’s simply heavenly. Bavarian cuisine has something down-to-earth and at the same time so hearty that makes me feel at home.”
Enjoyment of acting
Darnell does not rule out a return to the royal court. “I would be very happy to return and continue telling the story,” said the entertainer. Maybe we’ll see him in other productions soon? At least he seems to enjoy acting. “I dream of taking part in a historical drama one day – these costumes, the old stories, that fascinates me. But I would also be interested in an exciting crime series,” he says.
Until then he can enjoy his souvenir. “I couldn’t resist and took a little souvenir with me,” he admits. This is a small prop item. However, he kept to himself what exactly it was. But he will always carry it with him.
