Britney Spears: Court ends her divorce on her birthday

Britney Spears turns 43 on Monday. The US pop singer can apparently finally close a chapter in her life on her special day. As reported and citing court documents, Spears was’ Single status officially restored. The divorce of the 43-year-old and Sam Asghari was finalized last May.

In June 2022, Britney Spears married her then partner Sam Asghari, a year after getting engaged. According to People magazine, her ex-husband filed for divorce on August 16, 2023. The reason he gave in the application was “irreconcilable differences”. As stated in her prenuptial agreement, Spears kept all of her earnings, according to Page Six. While she gained custody of four of their dogs, Asghari became the owner of Doberman Porsha. The former couple did not have any children. “The divorce was amicable and the prenup was not contested,” a source told People magazine.

Last November, Asghari, who is now said to be in a relationship with Brooke Irvine, said of his life after the divorce: “You just have to stay positive. You have to stay grounded and understand what the truth is and really just live with that and not with other people’s opinions.” He was “absolutely” able to move on and is currently focusing on work, which includes acting projects. “Acting is about what comes next and all the work you put in. I’ve done a few projects and I’m very excited to announce them.”

It was Spears’ third marriage. She was married to the dancer Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007. Their first son, Sean Preston, was born in September 2005. A year later, their second son, Jayden James, was born. Her first marriage was a topic of conversation because of its short duration. In January 2004, she was married to her childhood friend for 55 hours.
