Guillermo Ferrarowho was Minister of Infrastructure at the beginning of the government of Javier Milei and he was fired after a few weeks, he died at the age of 69, as confirmed Scope.
Ferraro took over as minister on December 10 and was unjustly fired by order of the then Chief of Staff Nicolás Posse, later also ejected from the libertarian cabinet for failures in his management.
So much so that Milei himself contacted him repeatedly after his dismissal at the hands of Posse. Despite his short time in management, he was valued by the rest of his cabinet colleagues.
Strictly speaking, Ferraro resigned from office on January 27, but the departure was only formalized in March.
Guillermo Ferraro’s professional career
Ferraro was a public accountant and had a degree in Business Administration from the University of Buenos Aires, a doctor in economic sciences and had a postgraduate degree in systems engineering, also from the UBA.
He began in politics within the Justicialist Party, close to Antonio Cafiero. He was part of Eduardo Duhalde’s government and served in Nación Servicios.
In the private sector, he was director of Banco de Entre Ríos between 2003 and 2005, and of Banco Bisel between 2003 and 2007.7
Between 2010 and April 2023, he was Director of Infrastructure and Government at KPMG Argentina, a global network of professional services firms that offers auditing, legal and tax advisory, and financial and business advisory services in 156 countries.
In this company he worked on the Aconcagua Railway Tunnel, the Chihuido Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Ushuaia cargo port, public-private participation models for road corridors, and on the Aconcagua Bioceanic Corridor, the latter specifically with Corporación América, where He met the company’s then chief economist Javier Milei and the future chief of staff Nicolás Posse.
Between 2019 and 2021 he directed the harvester producing company Vassalli Fabril in Firmat.
Ferraro was part of the La Libertad Avanza team during the 2023 presidential elections, which ultimately brought Javier Milei to the presidency.
