It’s nice when you have as much fun at work as Brad Pitt. The Hollywood star filmed at the Formula 1 race in Abu Dhabi and had an entertaining weekend.
It is not unusual for the rich and famous to gather at Formula 1 races. There was still something unusual about Brad Pitt’s visit to the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi. The Hollywood star was able to move relatively freely in the paddock and flirted with some of the drivers.
Reason for his flying visit to the racing circuit: The 60-year-old is playing the lead role in a new Formula 1 film and shot a few scenes on the sidelines of the race in the United Arab Emirates. “F1” is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”). Brad Pitt stars as former Formula 1 driver Sonny Hayes, who returns from retirement and becomes a mentor to a young racing driver (Damson Idris).
Brad Pitt is making a Formula 1 film
Even though it wasn’t his first visit to Formula 1, Pitt became the secret star of the last race weekend of the season. This time he was even allowed to line up at the end of the starting grid with his car. The Hollywood veteran was also there for the national anthem. During the traditional team photo of the Ferrari crew, Pitt and Idris accidentally walked through the picture. To compensate, there was a selfie with the Scuderia drivers and mechanics.
Brad Pitt is now a welcome guest in the paddock, and the actor had a few jokes with the athletes. But actually he was there to work: the final scenes for the film were shot in Abu Dhabi, including on the winner’s podium – in style, of course, with a champagne shower. “F1” is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2025.
