Under 17 World Cup: FIFA approved Qatar to host the next five editions

The Council of the FIFA approved that the next five editions of the Under 17 World Cup male are carried out in Qatarcountry where the World Cup was held in 2022 where the Argentine national team was crowned champion.

On the other hand, the president Gianni Infantino confirmed that the competition will no longer be held every two years, as was usual, and will begin to be played annually by decision of FIFA.

From the entity led by Infantino, what is sought is for the Asian country to become a benchmark for hosting major sporting events. It is hoped that at some point, Doha could become the “football capital of the world.”

This is because Qatar has a great infrastructure that allows it to hold a competition of this level, whether due to its stadiums or its training centers, accommodations and means of transportation.

In this way, the Asian country will be the headquarters of the Under 17 World Cup – which will have 48 participants – in the years 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029.

In turn, it was confirmed that it will take place from November 5 to 27, 2025.
