The Swedish royal family greets the traditional Lucia festival with a new photo of Princess Estelle.
For the annual Lucia Festival on December 13th, the Royal Palace has released a new photo of Princess Estelle of Sweden (12). The daughter of Crown Princess Victoria (47) and Prince Daniel (51) wears the traditional white robe with a red silk ribbon around the waist. She has a basket of cookies on her lap – including the typical light saffron pastries. But the most striking thing is probably the headgear every time. The princess wears the traditional wreath of lights with white candles and red ribbons.
the royal family wishes “A nice Lucia morning from Haga!”. As the over 680,000 followers also find out, the picture again comes from Crown Princess Victoria. And this time too it was apparently taken early in the morning at Haga Castle in Solna, near Stockholm, Sweden.
Last year Estelle posed with her brother
Last year, the Swedish royal family wished them a “Happy Lucia Morning!” on her social media accounts with a photo of Estelle and her brother Prince Oscar (8), also at Haga Castle. Even then, according to the caption, the photo came from her mother.
The Lucia Festival is one of the most beautiful pre-Christmas traditions in Sweden. It is celebrated on December 13th, the feast day of Saint Lucia, and originally brightened the shortest day of the year.
