The wines from the Susana Balbo winery are internationally recognized for their quality and innovation. Under that spirit, the gastronomic universe that bears the name of the first Argentine female winemaker is a seal of quality in the province of Mendoza.
Daring to Create It is the winery restaurant. In 2013, Ana Lovaglio Balbo, Marketing Director and daughter of Susanamade the decision to inaugurate the tourism and hospitality area, with the aim of offering a different option within the Mendoza wine tourism panorama. Since then, the restaurant has grown to form one of the most complete experiences in gastronomic tourism.

Its gourmet proposal, which was recommended in the Michelin Guide 2024, It is characterized by the communion of products offered by the different seasons of the year and the culinary techniques that allow the flavor, aromas and textures of said products to be enhanced to their maximum expression. This is reflected in the menu, conceived by chef Flavia Amad, which is distinguished by its audacity and is made up of preparations designed to stimulate the senses. Diners can opt for a 4 or 6 course menu paired with some of the best house wines.
In September of this year, the winery reopened its second gastronomic space: CRIOS, where an experience focused on fire cooking is offered, always led by Chef Flavia Amad. This proposal is complemented by a new architecture designed to enjoy the outdoors.

CRIOS proposes a Fire Menu, in which you can opt for a menu of steps that includes empanadas, different cuts of meat, garnishes of your choice and dessert, among others, accompanied by a selection of the best Susana Balbo wines; or the à la carte option, with alternatives such as the cheese and cold cuts board, salads, vegetables, sauces, different cuts of meat, among others. With this letter, Flavia Amad seeks to celebrate the essence of Argentine customs with an innovative approach.
The other CRIOS proposal is outdoor picnics, designed for two people to enjoy. It includes a duo of empanadas or a soup that varies according to the season, different types of sandwiches or salads and desserts, accompanied by water service and a bottle of wine from the CRIOS line. It is the ideal option for those looking for a relaxed and relaxed experience while enjoying the natural environment of the Mendoza landscape, with views of the majestic Cordón del Plata.
In addition, visitors can enjoy an extensive program of wine tourism proposals, including guided tours, tastings and “hands-on” experiences. Children can enjoy the outdoors on the playground in the winery’s gardens.
The two winery restaurants are not the only gastronomic spaces that the Susana Balbo family offers in Mendoza. In early 2022, Ana Lovaglio Balbo and her mother opened Susana Balbo Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites. A hotel, located in Chacras de Coria, fully designed to be a true oasis of luxury that reflects the sense of place and the authentic wine-growing roots of the host in all its aspects, from design and decoration to gourmet proposals, art , well-being and nature.

There is found The Life, an intimate and exclusive restaurant, open to the public, that provides a unique approach to Mendoza gastronomy. Its cuisine, also recommended by the 2024 Michelin Guide, is part of the concept of Fine Dining, offering an experience that goes beyond simply eating.
Each dish is a carefully crafted combination of ambiance, service and fine dining, designed to create a memorable and unique occasion. This proposal provides a renewal in the midst of the traditional gastronomy of the region. In this space, chef Flavia Amad has designed a proposal that stands out for its refined techniques and unique flavors, reinterpreting Mendoza recipes.
La VidA has just presented its new and creative menu inspired by the “Tree of Life and its 7 elements”, the main piece of the hotel’s art curation. Diners can delight in a unique, multi-sensory dining experience with an exclusive 7-course fine dining menu, which begins with a welcome cocktail at the hotel bar. Each dish is an elevated expression of technique and flavor, the result of the combination of the elegance of signature cuisine and the authenticity of local products.
To complement this proposal, three pairing options carefully curated by the Susana Balbo family are offered: Signature, which includes the line of signature wines that constitute the maximum expression of the winemaker’s personality; Us, where the menu is accompanied by limited editions and the winery’s iconic wine; and 25 years Susana Balbo, the pairing that proposes an oenological journey that celebrates the 25 years of the winery, including old vintages that are no longer on the market. This last option takes place in the privacy of the Chef’s Table, an intimate space overlooking the kitchen.
For these holidays, La VidA will offer a special culinary experience to celebrate Christmas Eve and ring in the New Year. Both dinners will have a special 4-course menu – Reception, Starter, Main, Dessert and, later, includes a Sweets Table – in which Flavia Amad, passionate about regional cuisine, created proposals that pay tribute to Christmas and New Year, with a modern and fresh touch. Each dish is an elegant mix of flavors and textures that reflect the diversity of Mendoza cuisine, paired with some of the best wines from the Susana Balbo winery.
