Jamie Foxx: Statement after attack with glass

Jamie Foxx, 57, spoke out on his Instagram page after a glass was thrown at him during his birthday party on December 13th. As a result, his face was so badly injured that he had to receive several stitches.

The actor seemingly subtly addressed the incident on Sunday, writing, “The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed.” Commenting on the released statement, he continued: “The devil is a lie. I can’t win here… thank you to everyone who prays for me and checks on me… when your light shines bright… try them to bring you darkness.” However, he was combative: “But they don’t know that you were made for this… the lights shone brightly.”

On Saturday, a rep for Foxx told Page Six that the actor had been partying the night before at the Beverly Hills restaurant Mr. Chow when “someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.” He had to be stitched and is now recovering. “The police were called and the matter is now in the hands of law enforcement.”

According to a press release from the Beverly Hills Police Department, police arrived at the scene shortly after 10 p.m. local time after receiving a call about an assault with a deadly weapon. The police department said the allegation of assault with a deadly weapon was “unfounded” but confirmed that a physical altercation occurred “between the parties.” According to eyewitness reports, Foxx was said to have been insulted in a “rude and vulgar manner.” The actor then demanded that he be left alone because his family was there. Then the glass was thrown.

In his Instagram post, Foxx also thanked his fans for watching his recently released Netflix special “What Had Happened Was,” which is now at number one on the streaming platform. “If you haven’t watched it yet, please do, it comes from my heart and soul,” he concluded.
