Joss Stone now mother of three: Rocky road to adoption of son Bear

Joss Stone, 37, and her husband Cody DaLuz welcomed their third child through adoption in late November. But the path to her son Bear was not easy, as the singer revealed. “We’ve been dreaming about this for so long and have been trying to adopt for over a year and a half. And some adoptions have failed,” Stone explained.

“There were moments when we were chosen, but we couldn’t make it in time. A lot of things happened and you have the feeling that it won’t work out,” the musician continued. Among other things, they fell for a fraudster who just wanted to collect money. Nevertheless, the couple stuck to their great wish.

Joss Stone and her husband were always sure they wanted to adopt. “When I first met Cody, we talked about it within the first few weeks of our conversation,” Stone said. However, an anonymous adaptation is not for her. DaLuz was also adopted and therefore experienced firsthand what it was like “not knowing where you came from, and we didn’t want that for our baby.” They therefore decided to have the child’s birth mother choose them as adoptive parents. In this way there is “love from all directions”.

Stone and DaLuz already have two biological children together: daughter Violet (3) and son Shackleton (2). Her adopted son Bear now makes the family perfect. “He’s so sweet and his birth mother is so sweet. She couldn’t be nicer. Everything is just perfect,” Stone gushed.

This positive experience now prevails, which is why the couple want to adopt “a whole series” of more babies despite the rocky road. “Hopefully he won’t be the only adopted child in our family. We just love babies. I always say: more children, more love,” emphasized Stone.
