Brian Cox calls for second chances

After Liam Neeson and Sharon Stone: “Succession” star Brian Cox takes sides with Kevin Spacey and calls for his comeback.
Brian Cox (78) thinks that Kevin Spacey (65) has paid enough for his wrongdoings. The “Succession” actor said this in one. The magazine asked Cox about the colleague with whom he shot the 1994 film “Iron Will – The Will to Victory”. And who several men have accused of sexual assault.
Several lawsuits against Spacey were dropped, and in July 2023 he was acquitted in a trial in London. The actor admitted to sexual advances towards the plaintiffs during the court hearing. However, he explained that he always stopped this when the men expressed their displeasure.
“He got the kick”
Despite the acquittal, Kevin Spacey is persona non grata in Hollywood and has only made a few films outside the USA. If Brian Cox has his way, this should now be an end. “I think he’s done with it,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “He got the kicking that some people thought he deserved.”
Brian Cox admits that Spacey “perhaps got too unhinged.” But he should not be “endlessly punished” for this. “It should be a case of forgiving and forgetting. Let’s move on,” the mime continued. “I think he should be given the opportunity to work again.”
“I like Kevin a lot”
But according to Cox, some people are trying to prevent this from happening. For these people he has a biblical message: He who is without sin should cast the first stone.
Brian Cox said he recently met Kevin Spacey. “I like Kevin a lot,” said the Scot. The American is not only a “good actor” but also “very funny”.
Liam Neeson, Sharon Stone and Co. are also fighting for Spacey
Brian Cox isn’t the first colleague to call for a second chance for Kevin Spacey. In May of this year, four actors turned in: Liam Neeson (72), Sharon Stone (66), F. Murray Abraham (85) and Stephen Fry (67). The occasion was the documentary “Spacey Unmasked”.
“Kevin is a good person and a man of character,” Liam Neeson told the British newspaper. “I can’t wait to see Kevin back at work,” seconded Sharon Stone. “He’s a genius. He’s so elegant and funny, generous to a fault, and knows more about our craft than most of us will ever know.”
