Robert and Carmen Geiss are rich. But nothing comes from anything and so the reality stars are taking advantage of the hype surrounding Dubai chocolate to make a profit – that’s the accusation.
Robert and Carmen Geiss have already earned a few thalers in their lives. According to “Capital”, in 2022 the entrepreneur estimated his assets at around 100 million euros. The Geissens are expected to collect over two million euros per season for their reality TV show “The Geissens – A Terribly Glamorous Family” alone. But Carmen Geiss repeatedly emphasizes that they have worked hard to achieve their prosperity.
Robert Geiss, son of a fairground outfitter, joined the family business after graduating from secondary school and completed training as a businessman. Together with his brother, he founded the clothing brand “Uncle Sam” in 1986, which specialized in bodybuilder fashion. According to their own statement, they sold the company in 1995 for 140 million German marks and shared the proceeds, and things have been going up ever since.
But a self-made millionaire career also includes knowing how to quickly increase money and recognize trends. In the past few weeks, “Dubai chocolate” has been idolized on all social media channels. A milk chocolate with a crunchy angel hair and pistachio filling that quickly sold out everywhere or was offered at exorbitant prices. The same goes for the Geissens.
The Dubai chocolate from Robert and Carmen Geiss costs 30 euros
Carmen Geiss explained that if you spend 200 euros in her shop, you will receive a free bar of chocolate. Alternatively, the chocolate can also be purchased individually, with 190 grams costing around 30 euros. The internet was outraged by the high table price of 30 euros.
In their podcast “Die Geissens” Robert Geiss explains his mission: “We sent the 1000 tablets from Dubai directly to Germany. Cleared customs, done, done – of course it took a few more days. But since last week everyone has received them If you do your Christmas shopping at Roberto Geissini and spend 200 euros, you don’t have to buy it for free.
Carmen Geiss also emphasizes that the comparatively high price for purchasing the chocolate individually was not set by her and her husband. A prerequisite for delivery was to adhere to the so-called minimum price recommendation. Robert Geiss doesn’t care that some people still complain about the high minimum purchase value and the very high unit price: “Those who don’t want it don’t have to buy it. They just don’t do it, they go and buy another bar of chocolate. “
