Ex-Bachelorette Sharon Battiste: “Golden Bachelor” is more authentic

The “Golden Bachelor” delights fans and former Rose Cavaliers alike. Since December 3rd, retired teacher Franz Stärk (73) has been looking for love among 18 women in Crete – just like on the “Bachelor” or “Bachelorette”, only at 73 years old.

Franz is well received by the women – and also by his predecessors. Sharon Battiste (32), who was also in his position in 2022, is enthusiastic about the show offshoot. The ex-“Bachelorette” can no longer stop raving in an interview with the news agency spot on news. She follows the love adventure herself closely and finds it “exciting to see how the show illuminates the topic of love in a later phase of life. It’s refreshing that older generations also get the chance.”

Watching Franz and his candidates flirting was “really sweet at times.” She finds the protagonists’ behavior towards each other and the atmosphere to be “more mature and respectful” than in her own season. “The Bachelor contestants seem to have a clearer understanding of what they are looking for in life and in a relationship, which leads to more authentic, deeper and often emotional conversations,” Battiste said.

Sharon Battiste is good proof that love can actually work in the “Bachelor” universe. In 2022 she looked for Mr. Right on “The Bachelorette” and found him in the florist Jan Hoffmann (32). After Battiste initially surprisingly announced their separation in May 2024, the two got back together in August.
